Day 1: Arrival Havana
Welcome to the airport and transfer to the old town.
Day 2: Havana Colonial and the flair of the 50s
Morning takeover of the rental car and start your tour on your own.
Walk through the colonial Old Havana with the main attractions: Capitolio, Calle Obispo, Palace of the General Capitainer, Hemingway << Bodeguita >> and his study at the Hotel Ambos Mundos. Lunch on the panoramic roof terrace of the hotel Ambos Mundos, in whose room 511 Ernest Hemingway wrote the novel << To whom the hour beats >>. In the afternoon drive through the Havana of the 1950s with Revolution Square, Malecon, the legendary Hotel Nacional and through the Miramar villa district with its magnificent mansions along the Quinta Avenida.
Day 3: Havana – Pinar del Rio – Viñales / Las Terrazas
In the morning, follow the road to Pinar del Rio. Visit a cigar or liquor factory. Afterwards, a panoramic tour through the Mogote valley with its famous limestone cliffs and the picturesque village of Viñales, where time seems to have stood still. Visit the Casa del Veguero (House of the Tobacco Farm) and visit the “Prehistoric Wall” – a huge rock painting. Boat trip on an underground river through the Indio Cave and continue to the Sierra del Rosario.
Day 04 : Las Terrazas / Viñales – “Pig bay” – Cienfuegos
Drive towards the central cuba. On the way stop in Guamá on the peninsula Zapata. Boat trip through the mangroves to the << Taino village >> on the Laguna del Tesoro and a detour to the historic << pig bay >>. Lunch, for example, in the restaurant << Punta Perdiz >>, located directly on the Caribbean Sea with possibility to swim. Further into the Cienfuegos, marked by French colonial architecture. Walk over the Plaza Mayor with the Teatro Terry, where Caruso once sang and headed to the peninsula of Punta Gorda with the << Moorish >> Palacio del Valle.
Day 5: Cienfuegos – Trinidad – sugar cane valley – Trinidad
In the morning along the panoramic coastal road to Trinidad – a UNESCO world heritage site with a unique colonial architecture. City walk with the Plaza Mayor, surrounded by magnificent mansions. Visit of the City Museum in Palacio Cantero and / or the Romantic Museum and cocktail in the rustic Canchancharra (honey liqueur bar). In the afternoon, go to the sugar cane mills. Visit the Hacienda of the sugar barone Iznaga with the << Slave Tower >>. Dinner in a Paladar, eg << Vista Gourmet >>, with popular roof terrace or “Sol y Son” with antique furniture and beautiful courtyard. Afterwards, you will be able to enjoy the romantic-musical nightlife with live music and dance, such as Casa de la Musica or Casa de la Trova.
Day 6: Trinidad – Santa Clara – Remedios (180 km)
Through the foothills of the Escambray Mountains or the Topes de Collantes to the center of the island in the historic Santa Clara, where Che Guevara won his greatest victory and found his last retirement. Visit the Che-Guevara Memorial. Continue to the colonial town of Remedios and walk through the idyllic Plaza Mayor with the church of San Juan Bautista (Mahagony altar from the 16th century) or to the coast and over a 37 km long dam to the natural and island paradise Cayo Las Brujas Insider tip with wonderful dream beaches.
Day 7: Remedios – Varadero / Havana
Around noon to Varadero or Cayo Santa María (for extension) or to the airport in Havana.
Return of rental car.
