Stay in Cochin for 1 night, Munnar for 2 nights, Thekkady for 1 night and Allepey Houseboat for 1 night
Day 1 Arrival in Cochin: Cochin (Kochi) is a modified form of the word ‘Cochazhi’ which in Malayalam means ‘small sea’. The major part of the city is at sea level along the coastline of around 48 kilometres. Spread over an area of 94.88 square kilometres, Kochi is the second largest city of Kerala.
Attracting tourists from around the world, Fort Kochi, Bolghatty Palace and the backwaters are major highlights of the city. The city also has a strong inclination towards the arts, and tourists in Kochi can visit places like the Kerala Folklore Theatre where one can watch plays or even spend time at the museum. Also known for its Ayurvedic centres, tourists can indulge in treatments at the many Ayurvedic spas in the city.
Check in to the hotel and relax. Later in the evening if time permits, you may explore the local markets on your own. Later, enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 Cochin- Munnar (135kms/4 hrs): After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed for a quick half-day sightseeing tour of Fort Kochi covering Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis church and a chance to see Chinese fishing nets.
Later in the afternoon proceed for Munnar, a beautiful hill station. On the way, stop at a good restaurant and enjoy a sumptuous lunch. Upon arrival in Munnar, check in to the hotel and spend time at leisure. You may go to visit the local market in the evening (on your own) and buy aromatic tea from the shops here.
Enjoy a delicious dinner and spend a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 Munnar local sightseeing: After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of Munnar visiting the Tata Tea Museum and enjoy the beautiful serenity of
Day 4 Munnar – Thekkady (110 kms/4 hrs): After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Thekkady. Upon arrival there, check into the hotel and have lunch (personal expense).
In the afternoon, proceed for a boat cruise at Periyar Lake in Thekkady, which is synonymous with wildlife and nature treks. Later in the evening, visit the theatre (non air-conditioned) to have a first hand experience of arts and crafts through the traditional Kalari Show.
After that, you can either shop in the local market or opt for an elephant ride (on direct payment basis) in the evening.  Return to the hotel in the evening, enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 5 Thaekkady – Allepey (151 kms/ 5 hrs): After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel in Thekkady and go for a spice plantation tour which will last for an hour. Later, you may indulge in spice shopping (on direct payment basis).
There are various kinds of spices cultivated in Thekkady. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper. Also, there is a variety of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantations in Thekkady.
Check in to the houseboat and spend the rest of the day there. Enjoy lunch, dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the houseboat.
Day 6 Alleppey – Cochin (86 kms/2.5 hrs) Departure from Cochin: After breakfast, check out of the houseboat from Allepey and drive to Cochin. Board the car to the airport in time for your onward flight. Hope you
