DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT BARCELONA
Arrival at Barcelona El Prat Airport. After clearing simple immigration and customs formalities, pick-up your rental car and start your road trip adventure through Spain. After check-in at the selected hotel, it is suggested to take advantage of your time at one of the Europe’s most beautiful cities, the epitome of the Mediterranean and blend of the ancient and the modern.
DAY 2: BARCELONA
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy then a sightseeing tour through the city. Some of the highlights you may visit are the ancient Gothic Quarter with its magnificent cathedral, Gaudi’s masterwork,the Basilica of the Sacred Family (Sagrada Familia), Montjuich Hill (site of the Olympic Stadium), La Rambla, Olympic Port, etc.
DAY 3: BARCELONA – COSTA BRAVA
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and continue your trip driving to Roses*, on the “rugged coast” of Costa Brava. Check-in and at the selected hotel. Most recommended for today is Cadaqués,the world famous ” little fishing village”, with the house of Salvador Dalí, several museums and various art galleries.
DAY 4: COSTA BRAVA
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy with some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling- kayaking activities of the region (optional). Costa Brava offers some of the best diving in Spain, and with an abundance of interesting sites along its rugged coastline, has something to offer divers with all levels of training and experience. Enjoy the rest of the day driving around and discovering by yourself small secluded beaches and fishing villages. Accommodation.
DAY 5: COSTA BRAVA – PAMPLONA
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and continue your trip driving west to Pamplona. Stop at the beautiful Figueres, town full of tourist attractions. On the outskirts, the castle of Sant Ferran, a fortress dominates the town on top of a hill and the area around Carrer Magre, where an old Jewish quarter was located. Walking through La Rambla and the church of Sant Pere. After lunch, restart your trip driving to Pamplona. Check in at selected hotel and enjoy the region´s diversity in its architecture, culture and cuisine. History aside, the real story in Pamplona is the July Festival of St. Fermin, every year from July 6-14, a wild party which attracted Hemingway and which attracts adventure-seekers from all over the world still. Even if you show up at another time of year, Pamplona still offers plenty of sights. Accomodation. If your road trip ends here, check-out next morning and drop off your rental car at the airport before taking your flight back home.
DAY 6: PAMPLONA – SAN SEBASTIAN
includes 2 nights optional extension to the unique Basque Country, visiting and staying at the marvelous cities of San Sebastian and Bilbao. After having breakfast at the hotel in Pamplona, check-out and drive to San Sebatian, just 20 km away from the French border. Check in at selected hotel and enjoy walking around its clasical streets and promenade. Despite the city’s small size, international events such as the San Sebastian International Film Festival have given it an international dimension. Accommodation.
DAY 7: – SANSEBASTIAN – BILBAO
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Drive for a liittle bit to Bilbao. Check-in and discover a industrial city well converted into a tourist destination with amazing highlights such us the Guggenheim Museum. Designed by North American architect Frank O. Gehry, the building itself is an innovatively designed
architectural landmark that creates a seductive backdrop for the exhibition of contemporary art. Accommodation.
DAY 8: BILBAO – MADRID
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Drop off rental car at the airport (Pamplona or Bilbao, depending on which package you choose) and take a flight to Madrid (additional service not included in the price). After arrival at Madrid Barajas Airport, pick-up the rental car and drive to your selected hotel. After check-in, it is suggested you take advantage of the free time to get to know one of Europe’s most dynamic capital cities, home of some of the most typical and delicious “tapas” and taverns. DAY 9: MADRID
breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a sightseeing tour through the city, which will allow you to get a glimpse of some of Madrid’s most outstanding attractions, like the Puerta del Sol,the magnificent fountains of Neptune and Cibeles, Alcala Gate, the busy Gran Via, Plaza de España and Plaza de Oriente. Do not forget to take a picture at Botin Restaurant, considered by the Guinness Books of Records the oldest restaurant in the world. Accommodation.
DAY 10: MADRID – CUENCA – BUÑOL- VALENCIA
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and drive to Cuenca, small city which represents the harmony between nature and architecture. Continue then your trip driving to Buñol. Situated only 30 kilometers inland from the Mediterranean Sea, this charming town erupts into a fiery blaze of tomato-hurling on the last Wednesday of every August. Called “La Tomatina”, it is the world’s largest tomato and vegetable fight. After exploring this interesting town, keep driving for about half an hour and arrive to Valencia. Check-in at the selected hotel and accommodation.
DAY 11: VALENCIA – GRANADA
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a sightseeing tour through the considered Spain´s third most important city. Some of the highlights are The City of Arts and Sciences, The Cathedral, the Serrano Towers (considered the largest gothic city gateway in Europe). Valencia is known around the world for its Paella and its traditional celebration of “Fallas” in March. Continue your trip driving to Granada. On late evening and after passing thousands of acres of olive groves, you will get to Granada. Check-in and accommodation.
DAY 12: GRANADA – RONDA – JEREZ
Breakfast at the hotel. Some of the highlights you may visit are the Albaicin quarter, the magnificent Alhambra and the verdant Gardens of the Generalife. To continue, drive to Ronda. It is famous worldwide for its dramatic escarpments and views, and also as the birthplace of modern bullfighting, today glimpsed once a year at the spectacular Feria Goyesca. Get into your car again and drive to Jerez. Check-in and accommodation.
DAY 13: JEREZ – SEVILLA
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy with a visit to Alvaro Domecq wine cellars (optional). Walk around the city and discover its Old Centre, declared official Complex of Historical-Artistic Monuments. Arrive to Sevilla in an hour drive and check-in at the selected hotel. It’s the home of those two Andalucian traditions, flamenco and bullfighting. Sevilla is the perfect place for assisting to a traditional Flamenco Show and Drink (optional). Accommodation.
DAY 14: SEVILLA
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy today with an unforgettable experience, Skydiving in a 20 min. drive from Seville. Coming back, explore the rest of the city with a sightseeing tour. Some of the highlights you may visit are the minaret of La Giralda, the Cathedral (one of the largest in Christendom), the Alcázar Palace and Torre del Oro. Accommodation.
DAY 15: SEVILLA – CORDOBA
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and restart your road trip driving to Cordoba. Check-in and enjoy in this ancient city which has one of the world’s marvels, the former Great Mosque (now a cathedral). Accommodation.
DAY 16: CORDOBA – MADRID
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.Start here the last stage of your unforgettable road trip and drive north to Madrid. Check-in at the selected hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening walking through the city and doing your last shopping.
DAY 17: MADRID –
RETURN FLIGHT Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and drive to Madrid Barajas Airport.
